After a winter of inactivity, Hitler's war machine sprung into action on April 9, 1940.  Quickly running through Denmark, Norway and Belgium, the Germans invaded France on May 10.

On June 14, 1940, Hitler's troops enter Paris.

On June 22, France surrendered. Hitler forced the French to sign the surrender agreement in same railway car in which Germany signed the surrender ending the First World War.

After taking France, Hitler quickly begins fortifying the French coast to protect against invasion.
